Welcome
I would like to extend a very warm welcome back to a new school year.
Our school building has been a hive of activity during the holidays. The
new library is well under way and we are hoping it will be completed by October
half term. Class 3 
has been decorated and is looking clean and fresh
and Mr Harvey and his team from Pitney Bowes have worked extremely hard to tidy
up and refresh the areas outside the school building.
May I remind you that access to the playground is through the car park until
the building works are completed. I would encourage you to accompany your
child through the car park as it can be busy at the start of the school day.
We are all looking forward to a successful school year with a real emphasis on
ensuring that everyone in our school has the opportunity to be the best they
can be. I look forward to seeing you all on Thursday 2nd September.

New Building
Walk through the Hays Library before it is built!
Work is well under way on the new building which will extend from the rear of the school and will add a much needed library and study area, food technology facilities and storage space. Architect, and ex-pupil, Andrew Paine was in school recently to discuss the building with children and finalise the details.
An Enormous Thank You to our Volunteer Helpers
Our
school would not be able to do many of the things that our children enjoy
without the large number of volunteer mums, dads, grans, granddads, governors
and friends who willingly give up their time for us. Traditionally
we thank them at the end of the summer term with a tea party. Unfortunately,
the arrangements for Stars in Their Eyes and the builders
has made it difficult for us to hold our tea this year. Instead of
this we will be inviting volunteers to join us for a late summer glass of
Pimms or an equally delicious non-alcoholic drink on Thursday 2nd September,
the first day back at school. Invitations
will be sent home before the end of term.
Attendance Cup
The Attendance Cup has been won by
Class 3 throughout the term for
having the best attendance in the school. We
will be presenting certificates to all children who have achieved 100% attendance
this year at a special assembly in the last week of term.
School Uniform
Most children are wearing the correct school uniform and
looking smart. Thankyou for ensuring that your child wears shoes to
school and not trainers. School
