Bike Pods bikepod
You will have noticed two strange red objects attached to the wall at the back of the school.  These are bike pods and can be used by children who want to ride their bike or scooter to school.  Please secure the bike or scooter with a lock as the rear of the building is exposed and we can’t take responsibility for the safety of the bikes on the premises.

Mr Hays Cuts the Tape

Mr Hays opens the Library

Group in Library

Berenice Spicer, the oldest surviving school student in the village, joined Philip Hays, Leslie & Andrew Paine and the oldest and youngest children in the school.

An assembly was held on Friday 20 May to celebrate the official opening of The Hays Library. The children sang and read beautifully and it was a great opportunity for us to say thank you to Andrew and Lesley Paine who designed and managed the building project for us for no fee. Andrew was presented with a watercolour painting of the new building byHarry Broadbent (Year 6) and a book of thank yous and photographs from the children. It was lovely to welcome Mr Hays into school and he was thrilled to‘cut the ribbon’ and open the library.

Healthy Schools
We are delighted that our school has recently achieved National Healthy Schools Status. This award recognises the work that we do to develop personal, social and emotional education, provide high quality physical activity, help our children make healthy food choices and to ensure the emotional health and wellbeing of everyone in our school is as good as it can be. We were particularly commended on our provision of physical activity and the emotional health and wellbeing area of the assessment. The award is a culmination of work that was begun some years ago under the leadership of Mr Hays and that has been continued and developed by staff currently in school.
