Stars in Their Eyes

What a fantastic show it was! Thank you so much to producers, Caroline Petherbridge and Nicola Saxby, MC, Simon Mawdesley and all the parents who provided the wonderful costumes.
Everyone did amazingly well and it was Thriller as you've never seen it before.
Congratulations to our Stars in Their Eyes 2010 winner Zoe Marris!
Congratulations
to Mrs Strank who has attained the National Professional Qualification for Headship.
Mrs Strank has worked extremely hard over the past year and thoroughly deserves
her success.
Thank You
to Summer’s parents whose theatre group raised £770 for us at a
fundraising event on Sunday evening. Thank you to Mr and Mrs Finn also, who
have donated £250 towards our climbing frame.

An enormous thank you to everyone who helped to make Sunday’s fayre such a success. The atmosphere was wonderful and we raised around £1300.
Sports Day
The children all tried their best and behaved wonderfully. Thanks go to all
adults for ensuring that the afternoon ran smoothly but special thanks must
go to Mrs Douse who organised the afternoon and ensured that we had everything
we needed and the children knew exactly what to do.
What a Difference a Day Makes!
A
Huge Thankyou to Mrs Maris, Mr and Mrs McManus, Mr and Mrs Ruxton, Zoe, Mollie
and Aidan for working so hard on a very hot day at the weekend to clear Georgia's
garden. It looks great and we are hoping to plant some more flowers and shrubs
in there over the next few weeks. We are hoping that it will become an area
where children can have some quiet time and an opportunity to observe wildlife
and help with some
gardening!
Mrs Lorkins also has a beautifully painted office courtesy of Mrs and Mrs McIntosh,
Mrs Gaines and Ryan. Again it was a very hot day but that did mean that the paint
dried quickly. Thank you so much to everyone who volunteered; the school is beginning
to look brighter and this makes a difference to everyone who works here.
Thankyou
An enormous thank you to Mrs Ruxton, who raised £163 for our PTFA by
taking part in a sponsored abseil earlier this month. She would like to thank
everyone who sponsored her.
Thank you too, to Duncan May and Grant Dellar. These are both dads of children
who will be joining our school soon. Duncan recently ran the London Marathon
and raised nearly £600 which he will be sharing between our school and
pre-school. Grant has offered his help with our volunteer projects. I have
also had a very generous offer of help from Mr Harvey and the company he works
for.
Writing Week

We had an extremely successful writing week. All of the children met the author,
Paeony Lewis when she read one of her stories to us. She worked with Class
3 and 4 on Monday and Tuesday and the quality of their stories is incredible!
They have been working hard to re-draft them so that we can send them off to
be printed.
The writing theme continued with the teachers’ handwriting competition,
the parents' Writing Workshop and the children’s handwriting and spelling
activities. Thank you to Mrs Strank for planning and leading our week.
